Dear Members
Another season of rugby is upon us at Kirwan Park and I would like to welcome you and your families personally - the season ahead promises much.
Over the sleepy summer months activity has been at an all-time high at Salmo with the car park works finalised, drainage works undertaken on all the pitches and the commencement of a pathway from the car park to pitchside.
At the end of last season, we also had dugouts installed on the top pitch. This is only the start of our commitment to make Kirwan Park one of the top facilities for rugby not just in Leinster but in Ireland.
All of this comes at a cost. Yes, we have received funds because of the new road, however we have committed much of that to necessary and overdue upgrades to the clubhouse. In addition, the provision of basic rugby equipment for training and matches doesn’t come cheap.
That is why we are launching a fundraising drive to support our programme for improving the rugby and facilities in De La Salle Palmerston FC for years ahead. All I ask is that, if you or a business that you know of, can support in any way you can, please do.
As mentioned in the attached brochure, business and sport are intertwined and sports clubs are very reliant on the generosity of businesses for their support. We have plans to greatly enhance our social media presence this year (which means you might see more of me unfortunately!) so in return we will endeavour to give those supporting businesses the maximum exposure possible to members and the Dublin 18 community.
