The 2025 DLSP FC Annual Charity Ladies Lunch took place on Saturday 10th May last year and it was a truly memorable afternoon filled with the style and warmth we’ve come to know and love over the years.
We were delighted to support two incredibly important charities close to our hearts at the club: Down Syndrome Dublin and Down Syndrome Ireland. Both organisations do vital work and it was an honour to raise awareness and support for them on the day.
We were very lucky to hear from Sarah Feeney, who spoke so openly and beautifully about discovering that her second child was born with Down Syndrome. Sarah shared the journey she and her husband have been on — from the initial challenges and uncertainties to the immense joy, pride and love they experience every day while raising their wonderful little boy. Her talk was both moving and inspiring and deeply resonated with everyone in the room.
We also enjoyed listening to the wonderful Olivia O’Brien, the wife of Finbarr, our Club President for 2024/25. Olivia spoke of how her family are involved with in Down Syndrome Dublin and the therapeutic art classes for children and young adults with Down Syndrome are available, focusing on emotional expression, self-esteem, and social skills.
We would like to thank the fantastic girls from the DLSP Under-16 Team, who did an amazing job throughout the day — selling raffle tickets, handing out prizes and helping with the many tasks that such a busy event entails. Their enthusiasm and professionalism were a credit to the club.
As always a special thank you to The Salmo Social for facilitating such a superb day and to the wonderful Ladies Lunch committee for all their hard work to make it all come together.
Events like this simply wouldn’t be possible without the incredible generosity and support of so many people. We would like to sincerely thank everyone who donated, sponsored, contributed prizes and supported us so wholeheartedly — your kindness truly made this special day what it was.
A huge thank you to gugo.ie for sponsoring the Prosecco reception and to SuperValu Killester for the wine selection accompanying the meal. We were also grateful to Day by Day Flowers for the beautiful floral bouquets for our speakers.
Our wonderful table sponsors on the day were: Stepaside Eyecare, DL Electric, Perrigo, Kevin Tunney Solicitors, Heritage Credit Union, O’Neill & Sons, The Biscuit Factory, McFeely & McKiernan, O’Grady Interiors, Shell Aviation and RenuBath.
A tip of the hat to our Chief Entertainment Officer: Emma Slowe Entertainment
